Fort Hoofddijk

Fort Hoofddijk, located in the Botanical Gardens of Utrecht University, is a historic gem in the midst of green surroundings. After renovating the fort, it was decided to apply Timberlab’s lighting fixtures to accentuate the splendor of this historic landmark.

The entrance doors to the fort are illuminated by EYE path lighting. These fixtures, made of oak in the 15 x 15cm variety, offer atmospheric and elegant lighting, enhancing the allure of this historic property.

Along the fort’s borders, the SOTTO uplight was placed. This sturdy fixture stylishly illuminates the fort’s façade, highlighting the architecture well.

“I wanted to give the fort the look it deserves. After discovering Timberlab products elsewhere in the country, I contacted them for an appointment. Timberlab then provided us with several demo models so we could assess whether these lights fit within our plan. In the end, we decided that the original uplight (BASSO) was not a good fit for the fort. We wanted an uplight that better matched the style of the EYE. This led to the design of the SOTTO, which does full justice to the overall picture of the fort!”
