Light
Timberlab exclusively uses LED lighting, which along with sustainable wood is an ideal combination. Timberlab has developed its own LED modules to achieve the desired properties. The technical specifications of these modules can be found on this page. Would you like to make a light calculation or do you need advice? Then we are happy to help you by supplying light data or drawing up a lighting plan. All our LED modules have been tested and the light data is available on request.
Does our standard light data not meet your needs? Then we will gladly think with you to achieve the desired result. For example, would you like a less wide light distribution? Then we can provide the LED module with different optics for an optimal light image to your preference.
Our different types of light
The most common colors for our path lights are 2,200K and 2,700K, offering both functional and ambient light. If you want whiter light, 4,000K is the right choice.
A third option is an LED module with amber light. Timberlab developed this module specifically for environments where bats are present.
Research and experience show that artificial light sources can disturb bats in their flight paths and roosts, especially when these light sources contain high levels of ultraviolet and blue light. This can cause various disturbances in their behavior.
The same research shows that bats are less sensitive to amber light, where the wavelength is between 580 and 600nm, and thus are less hindered.
For Timberlab products, both lamp posts and path lighting, LED modules are available with an amber-colored LED to minimize disturbance to bats. We use true amber light (580 to 600nm).
DIALux is a software program used to design, simulate and visualize lighting systems. The necessary light data are available from all of our LED modules. Timberlab products are included in the DIALux library by default.
DIALux can be used to create a lighting design where data can be determined in advance, such as: simulation of lighting and light distribution, energy efficiency analysis, standards compliance, 3D visualization and reporting.
DIALux is a powerful tool used by lighting industry professionals to design and evaluate efficient, effective and standards-compliant lighting systems.
For our street lighting products, we have developed a powerful sensor to make lighting applications dynamic. This is an integrated system that works independently and communicates wirelessly. The different fixtures communicate through a powerful mesh network. By creating different addresses and groups, any desired dynamic setting can be created using the app.
If you choose path lighting, you can combine it with our even smarter Adark® system. This system connects several fixtures and the light turns on (brighter) when motion is detected. It adjusts fully automatically for maximum efficiency and ease of use.
OUR VARIOUS LED MODULES
Timberlab has a wide range of LED modules designed for both path and street lighting. All of our standard LED modules are IP67 and designed to perform in a variety of conditions.
For path lighting, our most preferred module is the TBL Path Light module. Available in 2,200K, 2,700K, 4,000K and amber, it has a wide beam to properly illuminate walkways. You can also choose the TBL ground wash module, available in the same light colors, which focuses the light beam more in the center in front of the lamp. For more information on our LED modules, check out our catalog. These three modules operate reliably at temperatures from -20°C to +50°C.
For street lighting, we have the TBL Streetlight Modules. This is available as standard or frosted. With the frosted version, an optic is mounted on the module that makes the light less bright and centers the beam more. These LED modules are available in 2,200K, 3,000K, 4,000K and Amber, with or without frosted optics. These modules can also withstand temperatures from -30°C to +50°C.
